A Christian dating app that treats marriage as the point
Most dating apps are built to keep you swiping. Agape is built for Christian adults who already know they want a real relationship — the kind that can become a marriage — and are tired of hiding that in a bio nobody reads. You are not asked to pretend faith is a hobby. Denomination, church attendance, and what you are looking for sit next to your photos because they belong there.
Agape (ἀγάπη) is the New Testament word for loyal, costly love: the love that keeps a promise when feelings dip. We named the product after that on purpose. We cannot manufacture character. We can stop designing the app as if hookups were the default, and we can give you filters that match how Christians actually live — Baptist or Pentecostal, weekly church or online, marriage-minded or still discerning.
You can start free in the browser at app.agapechristiandating.com or on Android via Google Play. Create a profile, set faith filters, like people nearby, and talk after you both say yes. Premium is optional if you want extra Super Likes, unlimited messages, rewinds, and visitor lists. Nobody should have to buy a subscription just to exist here.
Who Agape is for (and who it is not)
Agape is for men and women 18 and older who identify as Christian and want to date with honesty. That includes people who grew up in church and people who came to faith later. It includes Catholics, Orthodox Christians, Protestants, nondenominational believers, and people who are still putting a label on their tradition. You do not need a seminary degree. You do need to be yourself on the profile.
Agape is not a church, a counseling practice, or a matchmaker who picks your spouse. We will not promise a wedding. We will not baptize a stranger into “verified Christian” because they quoted a verse. If you want a hookup app with a cross emoji, this is the wrong product. If you want to treat people as disposable, the report and block tools will get used — on you.
Read why we built Agape, the product walkthrough, and our safety standards. If you are already dating here, the intention guide is a better use of an evening than another hour of empty swiping.
What you can do in the first ten minutes
- Create an account with your email and confirm it. Use a photo that looks like you on a normal Sunday, not a cropped concert shot from 2017.
- Fill in denomination, how often you attend church, love language, and whether you are looking for marriage, dating, friendship, or still figuring it out. Vague profiles get vague matches.
- Set distance and faith filters so you are not wading through people whose life with God looks nothing like yours.
- Like people you would actually have coffee with. Pass without performing. If you match, say hello like a human: notice something specific, skip the copy-paste sermon.
Verification is a live selfie compared to your photos. It does not prove you are kind. It does make it harder to run a catfish. Sending photos in chat requires a verified badge. Details live in the FAQ and Help center.
